Prof. Paul Armah Aryee
University for Development Studies (UDS)

Prof. Paul Armah Aryee is an Associate Professor of Public Health Nutrition at the Nutritional Sciences Department of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University for Development Studies (UDS). He is well-groomed in the Human Nutritional Sciences, Public Health, and Human Physiology. Aside his passion for training and mentoring graduate and post-graduate students of medical and allied health sciences, he is also an astute researcher and advocates for public health issues. He is actively involved in nutrition and public health-related research, and currently has interests in studying the aetiological factors of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially, those of public health importance. As a product of the “developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD)” he has spent the last 2 decades in working towards unraveling the factors that may be moderating the development of NCDs during the phase of plasticity, that is, during the first 1000 days of life. Prof. Aryee’s involvement in collaborative projects over the years with NGOs in the area of pregnant/lactating women and children less than 24 months has been the bases for his current thrust in academia.

Prof. Aryee has 44 peer-reviewed publications (including 2 books), and a number of other publications/submissions (abstracts, reports, contributions to brochures, newspapers, etc)
